Framing

FramingA house's skeleton is called the frame. Though some new homes utilize steel framing, most houses are made of wooden beams, floor joists, walls studs, roof rafters and related components. To insure the structure's strength, these parts are sized and connected in accord with building codes that are based on basic load engineering principles.
There are many options to consider when looking at the framing of your house and they should be determined based on your needs and desires. For instance, if your desire is to have the highest level of energy efficiency available, our recommendation would be ICF construction or possibly 2x6 stud construction with oversized insulation batts. Give Blue Ridge Homes a call and lets discuss your dreams.
